Whose Boat Is This Boat?

edit
  • ... that Donald Trump "accidentally" wrote a children's book? Source: "Now the children’s book is actually going to be published, and will be out Nov. 6 (midterm election day), Colbert announced on his show Thursday and on Twitter. The author is 'Donald Trump (by accident).' Every quote was actually said by Trump." The Huffington Post

  • Article is new enough and adequately sourced. QPQ has been provided, and the hook is interesting and verified inline. Earwigs gives a score of 44.1%, but this is because of quotes are that are cited in the article. As this is a sensitive topic, it is important that sources are adequately attributed, which is the case here. My main concern is that, since Trump is involved, the article needs to be as neutrally-written as possible, though so far it looks fine to me. I'd also suggest putting "accidentally" in the hook in quotes. Finally, as this is an election-related topic, I'd suggest not promoting this until after November 6 (the midterms). How about this going up on November 8, the anniversary of Trump's election? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 12:17, 23 October 2018 (UTC)
  • I was actually considering requesting November 6 specifically, since that's the release date of the book. Obviously that release date is itself chosen to be intentionally POINTY. Don't matter to me all that much either way. GMGtalk 12:22, 23 October 2018 (UTC)
  • @Narutolovehinata5 and GreenMeansGo: is it going to be Nov 6 then? It would go to prep 2, which is the same one as the Halloween one, which will be promoted today. I don't see any problem with the date – the hook doesn't endorse any political party or candidate. wumbolo ^^^ 10:39, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
@Wumbolo: I think a good date would be November 8, which was the anniversary of the day Trump was elected, although if the nominator objects, any date after November 6 should be fine. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 11:01, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
Why does it have to be after Nov 6? Looking at Wikipedia:Did you know#Date requests, and I don't see any reason that this would be inappropriate. wumbolo ^^^ 11:06, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
Because of the DYK rule about political hooks being prohibited 30 days before an election. Yes, I know the rule applies to candidates and Trump himself is not a candidate, but considering the political climate in the United States right now, it might be better to err on the side of caution, especially when the book itself isn't exactly a positive one. Fine by me either way. GMGtalk 11:38, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
