Webster Sycamore edit

Moved to mainspace by West Virginian (talk). Self-nominated at 16:19, 6 October 2015 (UTC).

  • New enough (on account of move to mainspace) and definitely long enough. Sourced throughout, including the interesting hooks. No sign of copyvio or issues with the hook or content. QPQ done '''tAD''' (talk) 17:53, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
  • The Almightey Drill, I was able to secure a Public Domain image of the Webster Sycamore with the assistance of Centpacrr. Would you be able to review this image and re-certify this DYK nomination as you see fit? Thank you. -- West Virginian (talk) 12:33, 8 October 2015 (UTC)
Image is acceptable as copyright has expired. It is used in the article and clearly visible when scaled down '''tAD''' (talk) 13:08, 8 October 2015 (UTC)
West Virginian: We must now ask whether it is fair use to include the 1955 image, as what is shown in the image and what it is illustrating is practically the same as the non-copyrighted 1920 image '''tAD''' (talk) 13:10, 8 October 2015 (UTC)
The Almightey Drill, because the 1950s image is of better quality and illustrates the scale of the tree with the four men, do you think that would serve as enough rationale to keep it? I have modified the "Purpose of use in article" and "Not replaceable with free media because" accordingly. I'm not opposed to disposing with it though. Thank you tremendously for your approval and re-review. -- West Virginian (talk) 14:00, 8 October 2015 (UTC)
West Virginian: I would say that to illustrate the size compared to men is an acceptable rationale as the purpose is clearly educational. As the thumbnail is small (and monochrome), it may be helpful to mention the men and the relevance of them to the size, in the caption. That's my idea, you may think in a different/better way '''tAD''' (talk) 14:04, 8 October 2015 (UTC)
The Almightey Drill: Thank you for the suggestion; I've modified the image's caption in the article accordingly. Your guidance and suggestions are always greatly appreciated. -- West Virginian (talk) 14:08, 8 October 2015 (UTC)
The Almightey Drill, I have removed the image of the Webster Sycamore due to an ongoing dispute with Chhe over whether indeed this is the same tree, although it is most likely is. In the interest of putting the issue to bed, I've decided it would be best to move forward without the image. Thank you. -- West Virginian (talk) 20:04, 12 October 2015 (UTC)
  • West Virginian: In that case, there is no fault at all with this nomination. All good to go '''tAD''' (talk) 20:06, 12 October 2015 (UTC)
