Venom and Eternity edit

  • ... that the first screening of Venom and Eternity ended early after director Isidore Isou attempted to play only its soundtrack to a darkened theatre? Source: "During the Cannes showing, because he had had no time to edit the film beyond the first part, after a few minutes the screen became blank, then the projector light was turned off, so spectators remained in pitch darkness while Isou let the soundtrack roll." —Christophe Wall-Romana, Cinepoetry: Imaginary Cinemas in French Poetry and "After the first section was completed and the screen went completely blank, the audience became apoplectic; the screening was unable to continue." —Andrew V. Uroskie
