University of Dundee Medical School edit

Created by Drchriswilliams (talk) and Alkuusik (talk). Nominated by Drchriswilliams (talk) at 10:28, 2 September 2016 (UTC).

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
Image: Image is freely licensed, used in the article, and clear at 100px.
QPQ: Done.

Overall: The picture caption does not use the same terminology (name) as the article. Can you please fix it to avoid confusion amongst readers? In view of the update and clarification by nominator, passing this entry for DYK. Thanks Arun Kumar SINGH (Talk) 10:53, 2 September 2016 (UTC)

@AKS.9955: I have changed the caption. I had originally attempted to include an apostrophe in ALT1 and should check if the removal was intentional. Drchriswilliams (talk) 11:16, 2 September 2016 (UTC)
  • Why is ALT0 interesting? These projects often take a decade or more? EEng 19:03, 11 September 2016 (UTC)
  • I agree with EEng; the hooks are completely uninteresting, so I struck them. Here's another idea:
  • ALT2: ... that The Guardian ranked the University of Dundee School of Medicine 1st in Scotland in its 2015, 2016, and 2017 university guides?
  • A citation should be provided for the 4 research divisions listed under Research. And it's unclear why the page is called "Medical School" when the lead and infobox call it the "School of Medicine". Yoninah (talk) 00:41, 29 September 2016 (UTC)
  • ALT3: ... that The Guardian ranked the University of Dundee School of Medicine 1st in Scotland for medical degrees in its 2015, 2016, and 2017 university guides?
  • @EEng:@Yoninah: Sorry to take such a long time to ponder this all. A recent internal university reorganisation at the University of Dundee means that the Medical school is now tied together with various clinical research divisions. Much of the sourced content in the article concerns the medical school, but it probably helps readers to explain it all as part of the new School of Medicine structure. I have altered ALT2 and the picture caption to reflect the new terminology and title, rather than use a redirect. The Guardian rankings relate to the undergraduate medical degrees provided by the medical school, so I have added a more long-winded ALT3. Drchriswilliams (talk) 15:35, 3 October 2016 (UTC)
Honestly, rankings are kind of gauche. I'd go with something like
EEng 18:05, 3 October 2016 (UTC)
  • I agree that there are more interesting things than rankings. I like ALT4. Drchriswilliams (talk) 19:51, 3 October 2016 (UTC)
  • Also, should this DYK nomination now be moved to a page that matches the article page move? Drchriswilliams (talk) 22:31, 3 October 2016 (UTC)
No, changing the name of the nom page messes up the complicated DYK infrastructure. It's OK if it doesn't match the article name. EEng 22:33, 3 October 2016 (UTC)
I adjusted the DYK credits to reflect the new page name. Yoninah (talk) 18:47, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
Yes, right, that bit should be adjusted. Thanks, Y. EEng 19:00, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
  • Drchriswilliams thank you for adding the cite for the research divisions and for moving the page. The ALT4 hook is verified and cited inline. I added the "pictured" information to the hook. Rest of review per AKS.9955. ALT4 good to go. Yoninah (talk) 19:01, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
