Nominator attempted to "speedy delete" the template; this is not allowed, but is clearly an indication that the nomination is being withdrawn. Closing as unsuccessful.

Trapito

edit
  • ... that although it is a crime to be a trapito in Argentina, none has ever been sentenced?

  • ALT1 ... that no Argentinian trapito has ever been sentenced?
(Article needs a bit of copyediting e.g. "There have been 3191 denounces in 2013".) EEng (talk) 18:07, 15 May 2015 (UTC)
I don't know which copyediting is required, so I left a request at Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Requests Cambalachero (talk) 18:52, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
Be patient -- they have a huge backlog. Make sure to keep watch in case they need your help clarifying what some passage is trying to say. EEng (talk) 03:10, 6 June 2015 (UTC)
The article says "There were 3,191 complaints in 2013, but 95% were dismissed for lack of evidence, and none went to trial." The hook makes the far bolder claim that no person "has ever been sentenced" for the crime. 2013 is not forever and there was presumably some resolution to the 5% of the 2013 complaints that were not dismissed. (I can't read the Spanish in the cited source.) I think both hooks should be struck and a new hook devised. - Dravecky (talk) 09:59, 27 June 2015 (UTC)
@Dravecky: I wonder if a way of resolving it is to see if anybody ever pleaded guilty. If nobody pleaded, it would have been impossible to have been sentenced, because in order to be convicted and sentenced (without a plea) one must be sent through a trial first. If nobody was tried, nobody could be convicted and sentenced. WhisperToMe (talk) 08:57, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
@WhisperToMe: If some brave editor can find reliable sources covering "ever", or even just 2013, then I will commend their efforts but the article as it stands does not support the hooks. - Dravecky (talk) 12:35, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
  • Surely not - we have an almost identical article at Franelero - why can this not be merged with that article? Victuallers (talk) 18:40, 29 June 2015 (UTC)
  • Cambalachero, if you wish to withdraw the nomination based on the issues raised earlier—adding the "no" to the template is not a valid way to close it so I've reversed your edit here, and someone other than the nominator should do the actual closing—we'll proceed with the withdrawal, and I've marked this accordingly with the "X" icon. If that isn't what you meant to do, please let us know here as soon as possible. Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 20:31, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
