The Tank (theater)
edit... that the off-off-Broadway theater The Tank got its name because someone thought its original space looked like a fishtank?Source: "The Tank’s founders got a break at the start when their theatre-district landlord, who was planning to sell his building, gave them a month-to-month lease at very low rent. The place had a wall of glass that faced 42nd Street, “so someone described it as a fish tank. Then the ‘fish’ got dropped,” is how Krebs explains the name." Ref 2

- Interesting facts, on good sources, no copyvio obvious. The hook: If you explain the name in the hook, readers may think that they mow know it all, and not click. How about saying what's unusual about this place? - Article: I am not happy with "It was founded by eight or nine artists, all of whom were either 24 or 25 years old and had recently graduated from college". If one source says eight and another nine, put the source right behind the number. "all of whom were either 24 or 25 years old" is clumsy and of a precision that doesn't add much to "recently graduated from college". - If I'd live anywhere near I'd like to explore it! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:26, 9 February 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for the review, Gerda Arendt! Sorry I've been slow to respond...I forgot to put this one on my watchlist. I've tightened up the sentence about the founders; only one source suggests that it was founded by eight people, while multiple mention nine. Here are two more hooks to consider:
- ALT1: ... that a Tank has been moving around Manhattan since 2003?
- ALT2: ... that artists are not charged to produce work at the off-off-Broadway theater The Tank?
- Thanks! I've added this page to my watchlist so I'll respond much sooner next time around. All the best, BobAmnertiopsis∴ChatMe! 08:33, 19 February 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you, and no problem about slow, - we have a rich supply in noms, and this has no date stamp. I normally go for quirky, but in this case really like the very unusal fact plain, both approved, but leaning towards ALT2. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:06, 19 February 2017 (UTC)
- (Gerda Arendt, would you mind ticking the nomination? Thanks! BobAmnertiopsis∴ChatMe! 17:30, 19 February 2017 (UTC))
- no, sorry, - I copied the thing and then forgot ... --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:34, 19 February 2017 (UTC)
