Thawun Gyi

edit

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems

Hook eligibility:

QPQ: Done.

Overall: AGF for sourcing and foreign language usage. Note 1 skirts close to OR, but is an accumulation of information rather than research. I would recommend ALT1 as being a snappier hook, at 109 characters versus 174. Also, including date of reign in ALT0 is a questionable overkill of information. It may seem I am being hard on the nominator, but I truly admire the scholarship involved in working in both Burmese and English. Delete the dates from ALT0, and/or accept ALT1, and this article should be GTG for DYK.Georgejdorner (talk) 17:05, 28 November 2015 (UTC)

  • Thanks very for the review, Georgejdorner. ALT1 is certainly snappier but inaccurate (as the Toungoo dynasty was founded in 1485.) What do you think about ALT2? It's in the same spirit, and factually accurate. Thanks, Hybernator (talk) 18:27, 28 November 2015 (UTC)
ALT1 struck for inaccuracy. ALT2 approved. I still have reservations about ALT0, as I do not recall seeing similar date ranges in other editors' prior DYK hooks.Georgejdorner (talk) 19:18, 28 November 2015 (UTC)
