Hook is cited; it's mildly interesting, but I feel like there's plenty of potential for something more interesting. Maybe mentioning that it beat a record set by No Way Home (a huge film) or that it caused The Exorcist: Believer (another huge film) to move its release date (off FRIDAY THE 13TH I might add and it's a horror film, what the hell). Welp, I couldn't miss a chance to review this, could I? I almost nominated this myself lol. I'm fine with all three alt hooks, with preference for Hook 3/ALT3. Though the article doesn't mention the 13th of Oct being a Friday, I feel like it's still reasonable to include it in the hook (since it's a really easy WP:CALC) and it makes it more interesting (IMO), so... Comment: I read the archived discussion on WP:BLPN and I find the alt-right argument to be bizarre and irrelevant. While there may be people in the alt-right who put Swift on a pedestal, Swift has made it clear she does not accept them. She called white supremacy "repulsive". Her endorsement of a Democrat in the 2018 midterm elections drew ire from the alt-right, who felt she "betrayed" them. More recently, her call for voter registrations has again caused a backlash from right-wing commentators, up to the point of death threats. Swift does not speak for or promote the alt-right.

As for the popularity argument, that comes with being one of the most popular artists in the world, which results in many editors. I think the same can be said about say, Beyoncé or Kanye West, and there exists a comparable number of DYKs and FAs related to them. I am aware that having Swift on the front page may look like promotion. In fact, I had thought about asking for this DYK to be used on October 6 or October 13 to coincide with the hook, but erred on the side of caution after reading WP:DYKSO. For what it's worth, I have no ties to Taylor Swift or any of her associates or companies; I work on Swift-related articles as a hobby because I am a fan of her craft. I don't necessarily object to spacing out Swift-related DYKs or FAs if they are too frequent, but I reject the alt-right argument as outlined above. If someone can point me to official or unofficial guidelines on spacing out the frequency of a topic on the front page, I am interested in reading it for future reference.
