Taiyuan Metro edit

  • ... that Taiyuan is building a metro system that is planned to comprise 7 lines and 233.6 kilometres (145.2 mi) of track?

  • I'm just going to state outright that, while the article is 1680 characters, meeting the 1500 character limit, i'm using the reviewer discretion, as noted at Wikipedia:Did_you_know#Eligibility_criteria, to say that this is not long enough. The source you're using has so much more information in it about the Taiyuan Metro, you can at least add another paragraph to it. Furthermore, this hook is not interesting enough. Again, the source has some more interesting information in it, maybe point out something of the cities along its length showing how long it is or something more interesting than just saying it makes up so and so lines and is so and so long. Maybe bring up how long it is expected to take until completion. There's a lot of more interesting things you can use. Everything else about the article checks out though. It's new enough, uses in-line citation, is neutral, no close paraphrasing issues. Everything is good except for those two things. If you can fix those by adding a bit to the article and adding something to the article that allows you to make a more interesting hook, then I can go ahead and approve this at that time. • Actually the Xinhua source does not contain much more useful info, as most of it is about the opening ceremony presided by the provincial governor and interviews with local residents. I did find two other sources with more useful information, and added a history section, as well as cost projection, to the article. As for interestingness, to railway buffs like myself, the length of the proposed network itself is interesting enough, as it's longer than many far more famous systems such as the Paris Metro, Hong Kong MTR, Singapore MRT, etc. How about ALT1 below? -Zanhe (talk) 18:45, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
  • ALT1: ... that the first phase of the Taiyuan Metro is projected to cost 31 billion yuan?
Approve Alt1 Yeah, that sounds good. Apologies if i'm being a stickler on this, but I don't want it to be a scenario where someone else pulls back the nomination from the queue for not being interesting enough. I've seen that happen several times. Heck, i've had it happen to me before. SilverserenC 20:54, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
No problem. Thanks for your review! -Zanhe (talk) 22:13, 1 April 2015 (UTC)
  • Now that you mention it, "to build" is superfluous in ALT1. Yoninah (talk) 22:42, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
