Taco Bell GMO recall edit

Created by User:Canoe1967 (talk). Self nominated at 17:17, 3 August 2013 (UTC).

  • Fails on numerous criteria: too short (209 words, still a stub); bare URLs for references, insufficient density of references - unreferenced paragraphs up to and including the one with hook claims. This can be expanded and improved, but I won't be able to re-review it; if it is improved, please ask for another reviewer at WT:DYK. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 18:19, 3 August 2013 (UTC)
  • No problem. Someone will probably tag it for deletion soon anyway. I will expand/fix it after that drama fest. I don't want to waste my time on it before a keep decision.--Canoe1967 (talk) 18:35, 3 August 2013 (UTC)
    • I'm reminded of the storm that Wikipedia:WikiProject Rosblofnari created. This article is exactly what I detest about this type of "bare minimum" satisfaction of DYK rules. In this particular case, it seems that it does not meet those requirements at the time of nomination. -- Ohc ¡digame!¿que pasa? 08:45, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
I think with all the bytes you just used you could have expanded the article instead of slamming it. I still don't know why you trying to delete it through re-directing. I can only assume you will attempt an AfD next. Eventually you may find the edits that caused this article's creation. For some reason I feel you will attack my other input instead though.--Canoe1967 (talk) 09:43, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
  • I'm not attacking your article in the GMO-political sense, just from the minimalist stance you seem to have adopted for it here at DYK. There seems to be some coverage of the topic, and $50 million isn't exactly small change, so I'm not proposing it for deletion. I redirected it because it was a pathetic stub and there was about the same amount of text there as in the redirect target, so it served little purpose. Admittedly, it could have been redirected to the GMO article, as there was some content there. But the subject has a closer and more relevant connection with Taco Bell, which is why I sent it there. It seems (from your talk page) that you created the article either to prove a point, to test the waters or both, and creating an inadequate DYK article seems to be like pinning the red flag onto it. You already seem to be over-sensitive to potential involvement of GMO-deniers, and this is getting you unnecessarily heated up. -- Ohc ¡digame!¿que pasa? 01:47, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
(ec) The only reason I entered it in DYK is because I had my butt chewed out for not entering any of the other articles I have created. I assumed this may get some help to expand and improve the article but now I see I was wrong. I was also expecting an AfD to improve it with the help of others. Many AfDs are created for just this purpose. Most know that the articles will not be deleted but AfD is a wake-up call to expand and repair them. I assumed that DYK would be the same. Sorry if I was wrong. The main reason that a re-direct won't work is because the material is too diverse to be re-directed to only one article. I have since added some of the material to six -4 to 5- other articles where readers would get a 'hook' to read the stand alone article.--Canoe1967 (talk) 01:54, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
