TONGASAT

  • ... that the small Pacific island nation of Tonga switched its recognition from Taiwan to China because its satellite company Tongasat wanted to establish commercial ties?
    • ALT1:... that the small Pacific island nation of Tonga, represented by its satellite company Tongasat, claimed nine percent of all viable satellite orbits and became the sixth largest holder of those orbits?

  • Article is new, lonfg enough and neutral. It cites sources inline. For sources I can not access, I AGF."Earwig's Copyvio Detector" reports very high (97.1%) text similarities qith [1]. Copyediting is needed to address the issue. The hook, I prefer the original one, is well-formatted and interesting. Its length is within limit It is accurate with inline reference. QPQ was not provided, maybe due to the nominator's DYK-credit account of less than five. CeeGee 11:44, 4 July 2021 (UTC)
That website copied the article from Wikipedia, so there shouldn't be a problem there. Zoozaz1 talk 14:53, 4 July 2021 (UTC)
  • Sorry! That's complicated for me. CeeGee 06:34, 5 July 2021 (UTC)
No problem. Is there anything else I should improve or do you think it's good to go? Zoozaz1 talk 14:35, 5 July 2021 (UTC)
  • The high rate of text similarity is the only issue ı complain. However, another reviewer should check and decide for the DYK-nom's approval. CeeGee 08:25, 6 July 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for this DYK,User:Zoozaz1. I found a source for the 9 % on page two, but for the sixth largest holder I wasn't able to find anything. Could you give a page number? Also, usually one does provide the source for a DYK. No problem, but check the other DYKs and compare with yours. I prefer ALT1.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 19:53, 25 July 2021 (UTC)
Paradise Chronicle, The source is [2] on page 6. Zoozaz1 talk 20:08, 25 July 2021 (UTC)

Zoozaz1, thank you. Found it, too. Since it says in the source that it was "almost" 9 percent, would agree to put an "about" before the nine percent? Then also this 9 percent are not mentioned in the article it seems.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 20:23, 25 July 2021 (UTC)

I would, but adding about would take the length to above 200 characters which I don't think can be exceeded. The number (16/180) rounds up to nine percent so it's probably fine. Zoozaz1 talk 20:34, 25 July 2021 (UTC)

CeeGee could you have a look?Paradise Chronicle (talk) 06:50, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

This nomination still needs a follow-up review. Flibirigit (talk) 20:08, 1 August 2021 (UTC)
  • New enough and long enough. Nominator has fewer than 5 DYK credits and did not need to supply a QPQ. ALT0 I must AGF on due to the paywall source; ALT1 checks out to different pages of van Fossen. I ran a date format script and made a couple minor copyedits, as well. Both hooks are interesting! As to Earwig, we ignore cites that copy from Wikipedia for copyvio purposes. Well done. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 20:12, 4 August 2021 (UTC)
