Knapping gun-flints

  • Article is new enough (created 11/22) and long enough. Hook is short enough. Hook is not super interesting, but passable. (Might be better to say ... that botanist and geologist Sydney Barber Josiah Skertchly wrote a book on the manufacture of gun-flints?) The hook fact is sourced to off-line works, but the title of the 1879 book here seems fairly self-explanatory; otherwise assume good faith. Photograph is supported by appropriate licensing information indicating it is in public domain. (However, image doesn't show particularly well at 100x100px, so this might not be ideal as a lead hook.) Spot-checking does not reveal evidence of copyright violation or unduly close paraphrase.
