Sudha Roy

  • , the article is new (created on 23 November 2016) and long enough. It is neutral, cites sources with inline citations. No close paraphrasing or copyvio was detected. Hook fact is cited with inline citations in the article (although none of them can be read online). My concerns are the following: (1) We do not know what happened after her brother's death. Did she inherit his post or was she elected? I suggest the hook should be modified. (2) The article should be edited, because it still looks like a draft. I suggest that titles should be created and a picture should be added. Borsoka (talk) 04:10, 25 November 2016 (UTC)
  • Sections added now. As per the 1960 events, she didn't technically inherit the position but would have been elected either at a Central Committee meeting of UTUC or an UTUC All India Conference. But technicalities aside, I think "overtook" is a safe enough verb to describe the events. --Soman (talk) 15:57, 25 November 2016 (UTC)
Thank you for your action. Sorry, I think we should clarify the circumstances of her "taking over" the post, at least in the article, as per WP:WEASEL. Borsoka (talk) 02:49, 5 December 2016 (UTC)
Sorry, I fail to see how WP:WEASEL applies here.--Soman (talk) 18:03, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
  • Anyhow, the sentence is now reworded in the article to the exact verb used in the main ref ("succeeded"). Thus proposing ALT1 ... that when Sisir Roy died in 1960, his sister Sudha Roy succeeded him as the general secretary of the United Trade Union Congress? --Soman (talk) 18:07, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
I understand that the exact circumstances of her succession cannot be determined based on the source. Is my understanding correct? Borsoka (talk) 03:00, 20 December 2016 (UTC)
  • Well, what we do know is that she became general secretary after her brother's death. What is seemingly impossible to determine from online sources is whether she was elected by the UTUC Central Committee (or whatever this instance is called), an extraordinary All India Conference or a regular All India Conference. Nevertheless, that technicality is not crucial for the hook fact. --Soman (talk) 10:34, 20 December 2016 (UTC)
  • . Thank you for your patience. It is good to go. Borsoka (talk) 03:12, 21 December 2016 (UTC)
