  • The hook fact is interesting and "hooky." Softball players are a neglected group in the media, and the author's efforts in expanding/creating articles is great. The hook is sourced to an off-line newspaper, but I found the hook supported by an on-line source as well. I have verified that the articles are long enough and have been 5x expanded within the required time. The articles are appropriately sourced and appear to meet core requirements and guidelines. And the hook is supported by an appropriate Creative Commons license. Typically, someone whose only contribution is the photo supporting a DYK submission (without editing the article) doesn't qualify for DYK credits, but if Bidgee went to the trouble of going out to take these great photos specifically for these DYK submissions, I'm fine with making an exception.
