Sophia Duleep Singh edit

5x expanded by Nvvchar (talk). Nominated by Nvvchar (talk) at 04:20, 6 February 2015 (UTC).

ALT2: ... that Sophia (pictured right), the granddaughter of the "Lion of the Punjab", joined the suffragette movement for the cause of women's rights in London?
shorter, and keep for women's month, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:56, 10 February 2015 (UTC)
Thanks, I agree with the shorter version of the hook and to keep it for the women's month. It needs to be approved still.--Nvvchar. 16:04, 10 February 2015 (UTC)
I should not review because my hook has other facts. Comment: the article contains much detail, not always clarifying what is more and what less important. Consider pruning, and combining one-sentence facts to paragraphs, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:28, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
Thanks. Pruned as suggested.--Nvvchar. 11:52, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
I think you have missed the most hooky fact. She was recently mentioned in a BBC documentary last night because ...

(I'm familiar with this as I wrote the articles for her mum and her elder sister). The article is written by an experienced editor and is more than long enough. Alt2 is fine, but I suggest that alt3 (my) is even more hooky. I guess either image would work. The article is neutral, has enough good refs and I didn't see any close paraphrasing. Do lets have this for WHMonth or Day. Thanks for this. Victuallers (talk) 17:31, 13 February 2015 (UTC)

Can someone look at my alt3 hook and confirm its OK? Victuallers (talk) 17:34, 13 February 2015 (UTC)
It's ok, but I would expect a palace to be pictured. Instead of "let her family live", you could mention that the queen was her godmother. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:11, 13 February 2015 (UTC)
I have added Godmother. Although this godmother bit is not just love, the family had given Victoria the Star of India Diamond and a country!
ALT4: ... that Princess Sophia Singh (pictured) campaigned for women's rights outside the palace where Queen Victoria, her godmother, had let her family live? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:29, 14 February 2015 (UTC)
Thats fine. I added the word "had" as the Queen had died by the time this campaigning started. Victuallers (talk) 22:21, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
  • Cleaned up nomination template: struck through unused hooks, replaced original image with image for ALT4. Yoninah (talk) 20:20, 18 February 2015 (UTC)
