- Okay Cmoody404. I've gone through the article and made various tweaks. I would also suggest a tweak to the hook to avoid WP:EGG. Probably something like
... that as part of their social emotional development, the emotional vocabulary of most children increases more than sevenfold by the time they reach age 11?
- This also corrects a couple small errors that the study didn't specially address 6-year-olds, but instead used age 4 to 6 as their baseline. They also examined "most children", specially using 75% of the sample as the cut off for their measurement. So long as you're fine with that, then I'd say we're good to pass the nomination. Just lemme know what you think. GMGtalk 14:58, 12 December 2018 (UTC)
- @GreenMeansGo: The nominator has not edited since December 10. Have your concerns been addressed? It appears they never responded here. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 03:15, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
- I was just trying to get their okay for the tweak to the wording of the hook. But if we're find to just go ahead with it, then that's fine with me. GMGtalk 11:13, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
- @GreenMeansGo: Not sure if it's right to approve the hook if the nominator is missing and never replied to your comments. Granted, personally the current hook wording feels fine, but still. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 09:47, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
- Doesn't look like she has email enabled, but I sent an email to the instructor for the course in case they can forward it to her. GMGtalk 15:45, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
- @GreenMeansGo: Sorry for the absence. I understand the egg criticism but the one problem with the hook revision is that it doesn't give a good baseline for when the sevenfold increase starts from. Would you feel more comfortable if we changed it from 6 to 11 to 4 to 11, and had it read like ... that as part of social emotional development, there is a sevenfold increase in most children's emotional vocabulary between ages 4 and 11? - @Cmoody404: Works for me. Also congrats on writing a really good article on a tough subject. I hope you stick around and always feel free to reach out to me on my talk page if I can ever be of any help. GMGtalk 01:12, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
- @GreenMeansGo: Thank you so much for your kind words! This was my first article, and it was definitely a great experience. Will I be notified if/when the article gets featured at Did You Know? Cmoody404 (talk)
