Skylanders: Imaginators
edit... that 2016's Skylanders: Imaginators will be the first game to feature PlayStation mascot Crash Bandicoot since 2010 mobile game Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart 2?
Moved to mainspace by AdrianGamer (talk). Self-nominated at 11:49, 18 August 2016 (UTC).
- I'm afraid the hook is not good, for two reasons; first, the article does not mention that Crash is the/a Playstation mascot, meaning the hook makes at least one claim not in the article. Second, and more importantly, the hook is wrong, or at least not supported by the cited source, which says that "Crash appeared in a particularly high-profile Sony cameo earlier this year, but the last game he had to himself was Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart 2 for iPhone in 2010." As such, it is not the first game to feature Crash since Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart 2, as he had a "high profile cameo" in Uncharted 4. Josh Milburn (talk) 14:39, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
- ALT1: ... that selected imaginators, characters created by players through Skylanders: Imaginators's creation mechanic will be printed out by 3D printers and sold alongside proper Skylanders toys?
- You are absolutely right about this. I have completely forgot his cameo in Uncharted 4. Thanks for pointing out the error. I sincerely apologize for that. AdrianGamer (talk) 14:22, 21 August 2016 (UTC)
- I'm still not keen, I'm afraid. The "would be" creates a rather odd tense, and I don't know what an "imaginator" is. I've been playing video (and other) games for decades, so I suspect if I don't know what it is, lots of readers won't. Josh Milburn (talk) 15:40, 21 August 2016 (UTC)
- I have modified the hook. AdrianGamer (talk) 15:49, 21 August 2016 (UTC)
(←) How about this: Josh Milburn (talk) 17:17, 21 August 2016 (UTC)
- ALT2: ... that selected "imaginators"—characters created through the video game Skylanders: Imaginators—will be printed by 3D printers and turned into real-life toys?
- It looks great, and is more clear than my initial hook. AdrianGamer (talk) 08:06, 22 August 2016 (UTC)
- Ok; the article is new enough and long enough, but I'm concerned that the hook isn't actually cited; could you please quote the part of the source (i.e., the Time article) that confirms what you have said? If it's not in that article but is in another, you need to switch your references around (or add the other reference, at least). Josh Milburn (talk) 00:16, 24 August 2016 (UTC)
- It looks great, and is more clear than my initial hook. AdrianGamer (talk) 08:06, 22 August 2016 (UTC)
- It is mentioned in the fourth subheading of the source. (A ‘limited number’ of players will be able to turn their Imaginators into real life Skylanders toys) AdrianGamer (talk) 04:45, 24 August 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, I saw that, but where are you getting the claim that they're going to be sold from? (Sorry this review is taking a while; I just think it's worth getting right.) Josh Milburn (talk) 16:01, 27 August 2016 (UTC)
- I don't know where they are sold from, so I simply mention that it is going to sold alongside proper Skylanders toys. AdrianGamer (talk) 03:15, 28 August 2016 (UTC)
- Yes. What is your source for that claim? I cannot see it in the source cited. Josh Milburn (talk) 03:29, 28 August 2016 (UTC)
- You mean I should provide a source talking about they are selling professionally-designed Skylanders toys? I don't understand which part you want me to source. It is quite clear in the subheading that they will sell these imaginators with the Skylanders toys, or as a Skylanders toys, which means the same. AdrianGamer (talk) 09:24, 28 August 2016 (UTC)
- I've looked again at the source, and I'm still not seeing it. Could you please directly quote the part of the source you're referring to? I see that the production team are "going to be offering a limited number of players the ability to build three-dimensional prints of their characters that are playable in the game", but I see nothing about players' creations being available in shops. Josh Milburn (talk) 12:57, 28 August 2016 (UTC)
- It is mentioned in the subheading "will be able to turn their Imaginators into real life Skylanders toys". I have added another source that says similar stuff. "Imaginators" are the player-created characters. AdrianGamer (talk) 13:10, 28 August 2016 (UTC)
- I've looked at both sources, and I'm afraid I'm still not seeing anything about the figures being sold- just that some players will have their creations made into physical toys. Sorry to sound like a broken record, but could you please quote the part of the source which makes you believe that these player-created toys will be available for sale? Josh Milburn (talk) 15:20, 28 August 2016 (UTC)
- I have fixed the hook. Buying toys is a fundamental idea of toys-to-life games like this one, but sources do not talk about this extensively. I have fixed the hook. AdrianGamer (talk) 15:27, 28 August 2016 (UTC)
- ALT2 approved. Josh Milburn (talk) 15:44, 28 August 2016 (UTC)
