Scale Lane Footbridge

Scale Lane Footbridge
Scale Lane Footbridge

Created by Bruxton (talk). Self-nominated at 21:52, 18 March 2022 (UTC).

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems

Hook eligibility:

  • Cited: Yes
  • Interesting: Yes
  • Other problems: No - The hooks might need a little work. For example, "... that from above the Scale Lane Footbridge (pictured) looks like an apostrophe?" It might be helpful to mention that it is a swing bridge (I edited the article to include this key point), thus: "... that from above the Scale Lane Footbridge (pictured) is a swing bridge that looks like an apostrophe?"

Image eligibility:

  • Freely licensed: No - Hook has a freely licensed picture, but it does not clearly show the bridge's comma-like form (a 'fair use' image shows this)
  • Used in article: Yes
  • Clear at 100px: Yes
QPQ: Done.

Overall: I prefer the Main hook but, as the nominator notes, the free use image does not convey this form. Of the others, ALT1, if reworked slightly to mention it is a swing bridge, would perhaps be the better option, and does not require a photo to show this. Also should the hook mention the bridge's location - for example: "that Hull's Scale Lane Footbridge is a swing bridge where pedestrians can remain on it while it opens and closes?"
