SS Republic (1871) edit

  • ... that an SS Republic passenger described it as a "floating palace"?

5x expanded by Thine Antique Pen (talk). Self nominated at 17:42, 29 November 2014 (UTC).

  • New enough, long enough (5x expansion; from 1,720 to 9,168 characters [5.33x growth] by my calculation), and free of any apparent issues (the article is neutral, appears to be well cited, and is free of any apparent copyright violations or close paraphrasing). However, all of the references are to books to which I do not have access, so I am accepting them in good faith. However, I was able to determine the existence of all four of these books via their ISBNs and OCLC numbers. Both the hook and the alternate are short enough, cited in the article (again accepting print sources in good faith without verification), and certainly interesting. I think that either hook would be a fine choice. Furthermore, QPQ has been done. Accepting the references in good faith, this article looks good to go to me.
