Russell W. Volckmann
edit- ... that Russell Volckmann, who spent four years fighting the Japanese in the Philippines, is considered one of the founding fathers of the U.S. Army Special Forces?

- Date and 5x expansion from August 5 are fine, hook can pass, but there are still unreferenced claims (paras) in the article. I would like a second opinion (or ping me on my talk if referencign improves). Oh, and the hook needs wikifying (links need to be added, link to DYK article needs to be bolded). --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 16:53, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
- I added links to articles, but the phrase "unreferenced claims (paras) in the article" confuses me as the paragraph that claims he was one of the founding father of the SF has citations from four different sources. Thomas R. Fasulo (talk) 21:43, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
- I didn't see any new material added after Piotrus's review above, over two weeks ago; I've added "citation needed" templates to the article to paragraphs that require at least one citation according to DYK rules. (It doesn't have to be at the end of the paragraph, though that's ideal if one source covers all the material there.) Action needs to be taken on this nomination soon, if it is to remain active.
