Prosopis flexuosa in flower

Created/expanded by Dr. Blofeld (talk) and Cwmhiraeth (talk). Nominated by Cwmhiraeth (talk) at 08:51, 31 May 2015 (UTC).

  • Both articles are new enough (created 25 May, nominated 31 May), long enough, and free from copyright violations. I have added some clarifications and expansions to both articles. QPQ checks out. The hook is cited, short enough, and interesting enough, however, I think that English common names should be used for appearance on the English Wikipedia homepage, even if the Spanish names are more commonly used overall (understandably in Spanish-speaking countries where the plants are native). So I propose:
ALT1: ... that the flowers of both the tortuous mesquite (pictured) and the Chilean mesquite are pollinated by bees?
(Note: "algarrobo" is a common name referring to various carob, locust, or mesquite trees. It's worth nothing that English common names may have the same lack of precision as Spanish common names (e.g there appear to be a several hybrids and varieties in this genus called "Chilean mesquite" in the agricultural trade), but I think it makes sense in this case, since "chilensis" means Chilean, and thus is the "pure" Chilean mesquite.) --Animalparty-- (talk) 20:47, 12 June 2015 (UTC)
Pinging Cwmhiraeth and Dr. Blofeld for their input. --Animalparty-- (talk) 01:10, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
Thank you for the review, there is a lot in what you say. I am happy with ALT1 and I doubt that Dr. Blofeld will object. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 04:57, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

  • Great, then with the alt hook this is good to go! --Animalparty-- (talk) 09:03, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
