Preorbital gland edit

Hirola (Damaliscus hunteri) are often referred to as the "four-eyed antelope", due to their large preorbital glands

  • ... that due to its large preorbital glands, the hirola (Damaliscus hunteri) is often referred to as the "four-eyed antelope"?

  • Hook is 243 characters long by my count. Other than that: New enough. More than enough prose (great job!). Checked hook: a bit obscure, but is in the references. Checked refs 4, 6, and 10: no copyvio. I'm a little concerned that the first paragraph of "In Cervids" could be WP:Close paraphrasing, but this is not a clear problem.
Suggested ALT hook ... that due to its large preorbital glands, the hirola (Damaliscus hunteri) is often referred to as the "four-eyed antelope"?

Thanks for your comments, hike395. I have substituted your shorter hook. With respect to your other comment---the text of the original source is quite clear and concise, and conveys the point very well. I have done my best to reword this paragraph, but it has not been easy. DiverDave (talk) 14:57, 27 May 2012 (UTC)

The article is just about the preorbital gland. I think the material is only tangential to the article. I removed it, leaving only the fact that deer like to rub their preorbital gland. OK with you? —hike395 (talk) 15:31, 27 May 2012 (UTC)
Looks fine. Thank you! DiverDave (talk) 15:40, 27 May 2012 (UTC)
Everything fine now. Thanks for the well-crafted article! —hike395 (talk) 15:47, 27 May 2012 (UTC)
