Peter Planyavsky

edit
  • Reviewed: Namling
  • Comment: 1 April? Funnier of course for people who know that there are only 150 Psalms, and Bach wrote Actus tragicus.

  • Article is new enough, long enough, adequately sourced, no close paraphrasing seen in sources. Foreign-language hook refs AGF. The article could use another reference at the end of the fourth paragraph, and at least one reference in the eighth paragraph. Also, the hook isn't funny, and frankly, not too understandable. Perhaps you could focus just on the humor in his pen name and parody of Bach's cantata, since most readers will not get the connection of 150 Psalms in a quick glance on the main page. • Thanks for looking! I copied the source from de-WP. What do you think of dropping being funny - the motet is serious anyway:
ALT1: ... that Peter Planyavsky, for decades organist at St. Stephen's Cathedral, composed the motet "Der 269. Psalm", and W. A. Plagiavsky Mozart composed Vier Stücke für die Trompetenuhr? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:19, 26 February 2013 (UTC)
  • The new hook isn't clear either; on a quick read, I don't get the connection between the first name link and the second. Perhaps you could state it outright, like:
  • ALT2: ... that the cantatas Der zufriedengestellte Autobus (The contented bus) and Cactus tragicus by P. P. Bach are in fact parodies of Bach cantatas by Austrian organist and composer Peter Planyavsky?
  • ALT3: ... that Austrian composer Peter Planyavsky specializes in parody, composing cantatas under the names of P. P. Bach, J. P. Haydn, and W. A. Plagiavsky Mozart? Yoninah (talk) 23:03, 26 February 2013 (UTC)
  • Good suggestions, but he is more an organist, and the Haydn and Mozart are no cantatas,
ALT4: ... that Cathedral organist Peter Planyavsky composed under the names of P.P. Bach, J.P. Haydn, and W. A. Plagiavsky Mozart? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 23:38, 26 February 2013 (UTC)
  • yes - I like Plagiavsky especially ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:57, 27 February 2013 (UTC)
  • Me, too! Since you wrote ALT4 and I just embellished the links, I'll feel free to pass this one. Foreign-language hook ref AGF. ALT5 good to go. Yoninah (talk) 09:45, 27 February 2013 (UTC)
