Peter Beck (cleric) edit

Peter Beck in 2011

  • Hook: Short enough, interesting enough. Source says "symbol", which is close enough in meaning to figurehead that I have no problems with the citing.
Article: New enough, long enough. Referencing looks good. Paraphrasing looks fine. Image licenses check out. Regarding the image, I'll make a crop for DYK.
Summary: Looks good! Crisco 1492 (talk) 07:52, 15 October 2011 (UTC)
  • The word 'figurehead' is something that I had in mind from just after the earthquake, as it was in regular use then. Having had a closer look now, the term was used by news wires, e.g. Agence France-Presse. I have added a couple of references to the article. The Brunei one goes back to AFP, while the French item doesn't identify the news agency. Hope it's ok now. If not, let me know. Schwede66 17:56, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
The France 24 article does not mention Beck, yet alone refer to him as a figurehead: maybe there was a different page you had intended linking to? I'd still suggest that it is an opinion of him rather than a role, so I would suggest that after the February 2011 Christchurch earthquake, dean Peter Beck (pictured) was was described as a "figurehead of the city"? (Changing since to after, because the former suggests that the opinion has endured ever since February, and I see no evidence of that) Kevin McE (talk) 19:50, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
  • ALT1 ... that after the February 2011 Christchurch earthquake, dean Peter Beck (pictured) was described as a "figurehead of the city"?
  • Indeed, I had linked to the wrong France24.com article, which I've just fixed - sorry for that. I've adopted your suggestion and produced ALT1, while striking out the original hook for clarity. Hope all's good now. Schwede66 03:10, 18 October 2011 (UTC)
Seems fine now Kevin McE (talk) 00:32, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
