Article
  • (in progress) Created eight days before nom, so pretty much meets time criteria. Readable prose is at 2849 characters, so long enough. Not a stub.
  • No evidence it's been on the main page before.
  • One section ("selected publications") is unreferenced. Not sure how the publications were selected as well. Might be worth thinking how this section ought to be.
  • Hook appears in article, and is cited. ("Seized Novel Condemned", The Times, 5 March 1929, p. 13.")
  • Also verified that the subject exists, and likelihood that hook is correct, through online ref [1]
  • Other than section mentioned above, the rest is well referenced with inline citations.
  • No obvious BLP issues (died 1979, but checked anyway)
  • No obvious plagiarism, although most cited sources can't be verified online
  • Article follows NPOV  — Amakuru (talk) 22:01, 17 July 2017 (UTC)
Hook
  • 121 characters, so short enough
  • Formatting looks good
  • Interesting and likely accurate according to the source (see above)
  • Neutral and no BLP violation
