Nicholas Orsini

  • ... that Nicholas Orsini became Despot of Epirus by murdering his uncle, only to be in turn killed by his brother five years later? Source: Nicol 1984 p. 80 "But before the year was out Thomas was dead, murdered by his nephew Nicholas Orsini..." and p. 92 "Gregoras seems also to imply that it was a direct act of fratricide. A later decree of the patriarch's synod, however, indicates that Nicholas was killed as the result of war with his brother."
