Neocalanus cristatus edit

  • ... that Neocalanus cristatus nauplii feed off of their yolk to develop while they ascend to the sea surface? Source: "The eggs are large and yolky so that considerable development can be completed before the young reach the sea surface." – [1] Support for the "while they ascend" is given in "Eggs are released in deep water, between 2000 and 500 m, and develop to NVI or CI during ascent to near-surface waters." – [2]

  • @RileyBugz: Everything seems to be in order. The hook is sourced and the article meets all the criteria, including having the relevant hook information sourced. One thing I'd change in the hook, however, is mentioning where they ascend to. The surface of what? ALT0a: ... that Neocalanus cristatus nauplii feed off of their yolk to develop while they ascend to the surface of the sea? QPQ complete and no file, no worries. Let me know what you think of the modification and then I'll pass this. Also, if possible, could you take a screenshot of the relevant part of the source just so I know the context (you can email it if you'd like)? @Anarchyte: Changed! I don't seem to have your email, so I can't email you the picture; could you possibly email me, so I could then send an attachment to you (you don't have to use the you've got mail template, by the way)? Thanks for the review! RileyBugz私に叫ぼう私の編集 12:48, 27 July 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for the screenshots. Anarchyte (work | talk) 13:32, 27 July 2018 (UTC) Approval of ALT0 has been retracted. ALT1a approved. Anarchyte (work | talk) 08:24, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
Lots of marine larvae feed off the yolks of their eggs. What is impressive here is how long it takes them to reach the surface and the distance they have travelled. Is it possible to incorporate this into a hook such as
@Cwmhiraeth: Should it be "yolk" or "yolks"? Also, "during the" works better than "over the" in my opinion. Other than that, I like your hook (but I'm not sure if I'm allow to approve it as I approved the other one). Anarchyte (work | talk) 06:46, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
@Anarchyte: Well, nauplii is plural so I think yolks needs to be plural, also the 40 days comes from research in the laboratory so I am introducing the word "may". If you think ALT1a is satisfactory, you can give it a tick. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 08:22, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
ALT1a good to go. Anarchyte (work | talk) 08:24, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for the hooks, Cwmhiraeth! RileyBugz私に叫ぼう私の編集 14:53, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
