Withdrawn in favor of a DYK about the artist, Lodewijk Bruckman; that article is currently a DYK on the main page with a near-identical hook to the one proposed here.

Museum de Oude Wolden edit

Museum de Oude Wolden

  • Comment: I know it doesn't qualify when the DYK rules are applied strictly, because the article was started four weeks ago and was expanded only twofold in the last five days, but I want to nominate the article anyways, because I think it would go well in the DYK section.

  • I'm guessing that the rules will be too tricky to break on the 5 day rule although I don't actually mind as I'm guessing you are new here and we should be flexible. If a consensus cannot be found to bend the rules then why not return with a translation of Lodewijk Bruckman's biography that is a sudden expansion to a full article? ... that Dutch magic realist painter Lodewijk Bruckman was most popular in the United States, but that he now has a permanent exhibition of his paintings in Museum de Oude Wolden (pictured) in the Netherlands?
Should I post this as a new nomination? – Editør (talk) 10:40, 8 August 2013 (UTC)
  • Or a shorter version:
... that magic realist painter Lodewijk Bruckman has a permanent exhibition in Museum de Oude Wolden (pictured) in Bellingwolde in the Netherlands?

  • Hi, I think this is going to work. I see there is a painting called "Studio Bruckman" which I'm guessing is a self portrait. You(we?) could use that to illustrate the article but we cannot use it on the main page. Are you matey enough with the museum to get them to load a photograph that they own? Need to check that the text has grown by 5 times, but it looks very likely. I looked for some refs in English but they had errors. I would like to nominate your article as a new article. Is that OK? I've nominated the article and posted a comment about the portrait on the talk page. – Editør (talk) 08:06, 9 August 2013 (UTC)
  • I hereby withdraw the DYK nomination for Museum de Oude Wolden. – Editør (talk) 17:03, 9 August 2013 (UTC)
  • Nomination withdrawn in favor of a separate, later nomination of Lodewijk Bruckman, which has been promoted and is, as I type, in the DYK section on Wikipedia's main page. BlueMoonset (talk) 04:14, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
