Michele Strazzabosco edit

  • ... that Michele Strazzabosco played in a preseason game with the Buffalo Sabres prior to the 2006–07 NHL season, becoming the first Italian-born player to make a National Hockey League appearance? Source: (translated from Italian): the defender of Vipers Milano played his first game with the Buffalo Sabres, against the Columbus Blue Jackets (the latter won 4-1) and thus became the first Italian full-time player to appear on the ice in the highest North American league.[1]
    • ALT1:... that Italian ice hockey player Michele Strazzabosco scored one of his most well-known goals in a game that decided last place in the 2006 World Ice Hockey Championship? Source: Italian hockey fans will always thank him for his goal against Slovenia at the IIHF World Championships in 2006, which saved Italy from relegation.[2]

  • In order to be eligible for DYK, an article must have had its prose increased fivefold in the last seven days. Although the article has been expanded, the prose has only been improved from 635 to 1516. The prose does not include wiki markup such as tables, references and categories so the article still needs expanding. Are you able to expand further? Kosack (talk) 14:37, 24 September 2017 (UTC)
  • Yup, I'll get on it. Skudrafan1 (talk) 15:03, 24 September 2017 (UTC)
  • OK, I think I'm close. Thoughts? Skudrafan1 (talk) 16:56, 24 September 2017 (UTC)
  • @Skudrafan1: The article prose currently stands at 2644, which is still slightly short of the 3175 required to make it a fivefold expansion from the original 635. Kosack (talk) 17:00, 24 September 2017 (UTC)
  • @Kosack: I found a game recap in an Italian newspaper. I think we're there now. Skudrafan1 (talk) 22:46, 24 September 2017 (UTC)
  • @Skudrafan1: Nice work, it does now pass the required prose size. One issue I have with the first hook is the final part would seem to indicate that he played in the actual NHL ("to make a National Hockey League appearance") rather than preseason. I'm unsure of the status of preseason games in the NHL so would these games be considered an actual NHL match or affiliated to the NHL in some way? If not, perhaps "to make an appearance for a National Hockey League team" would be more appropriate? Kosack (talk) 07:11, 25 September 2017 (UTC)
  • @Kosack: Right, preseason games do not count for anything so it would be disingenuous to imply he was an official player for the team. Maybe just something like "...played in a preseason game with the Buffalo Sabres prior to the 2006–07 NHL season, becoming the first Italian-born player to do so in National Hockey League history?" • ALT2 ...that Michele Strazzabosco played in a preseason game with the Buffalo Sabres prior to the 2006–07 NHL season, becoming the first Italian-born player to do so in National Hockey League history?"
  • @Skudrafan1: So that's the revised hook, are you happy to go with that? Kosack (talk) 16:29, 25 September 2017 (UTC)
    • @Kosack: Looks good! Thanks for the help on this one! Skudrafan1 (talk) 17:38, 25 September 2017 (UTC)
  • ALT 2 good to go. Article has been expanded fivefold in the last seven days, is well sourced and has no copyvio issues. The hook is interesting and the source supports the information. No QPQ required according to the checker. Nice work. Kosack (talk) 18:57, 25 September 2017 (UTC)
