• Comment: This is my fourth DYK so no QPQ should be required. Very open to other hook suggestions.

• Article is new enough and long enough. I prefer the first hook listed because it would be more interesting to a general audience who doesn't know why John Brown is significant, and references Jones' own achievements. The cabinet photograph and the portrait look quite different from each other, did you have a reason for choosing this over the other? Encyclopedia.com is not an ideal source, try to find the same information but with a secondary source. Other than that, the citations look good. Very interesting article!

• I agree, the first hook is better, but feels generic to me. I'm open to other suggestions. I chose the portrait because I think it is a more striking image and depicts her around the time of the actions described by both hooks, instead of a couple decades later. As to Encyclopedia.com, I'll go through and see if I can't find the cited info in other sources - if not, I'll remove it. Thanks for looking at this one! • @Ganesha811: Maybe the hook can be made more interesting by adding on a fact about her later life, for example mentioning how she was a black aristocrat or that she was also a suffragette? While reading the article I found it interesting that she was a prominent figure in Chicago's African American community.
