  • ... that the Lower Bell (pictured) was named after of the practice of ringing a warning bell to coach travellers? Source: "The steep road between the two Inns was too narrow for horse and coach teams to pass each other, so a bell was rung at either pub when a coach was about to depart, to warn those taking refreshment at the other end."     • ALT1:... that people kept picking up a vanishing hitchhiker outside the Lower Bell (pictured)? Source: "a mysterious girl who was seen on a number of occasions hitching a lift outside the Lower Bell pub." [2]

  • Long enough, new enough, citing fine, DYK checks clear. Prefer ALT1 for hookiness. But for those outside the UK, I suggest adding "pub" after Lower Bell. Maury Markowitz (talk) 17:50, 15 February 2018 (UTC)
