List of Burmese consorts edit

First, the (presumably) Burmese characters appear to me as rectangles and if it appears as such too many other viewers, it may not be DYK appropriate- is there a relevant notice to warn that the article uses special non-western scripts? Secondly, as this is a list, the length requirement is restricted to the introductory prose, which I count as around 1900 characters, but even though it exceeds 1500 I think it still is a bit too short per WP:WIADYK. There certainly is a wealth of text buried in the footnotes however, so I'd like to get a second opinion. --Animalparty-- (talk) 07:54, 11 July 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for the review, --Animalparty--. I'm sorry, your browser can't see the Burmese script; it's still a fairly common problem. I've added the Burmese characters template to inform users. As for the article length, a 1900-word article can't be too short per the current guideline. Anyway, I understand. I'll wait for a second opinion. Thanks. Hybernator (talk) 23:05, 12 July 2015 (UTC)
- New enough, long enough, neutrally written, well referenced. The page creator has provided reference quotes for the offline sources, including the hook fact. However, in the article and ref it says that the title Queen of the Southern Palace was reserved for the "chief queen", not the "chief queen consort". The charts are all well-sourced. There's nothing to do about the boxes in place of Burmese characters; I did try to clear up the spacing between the Burmese and English translation under Rankings of Consorts, but perhaps I didn't succeed. - Thanks for the review, Yoninah. "Queen consort" is a more precise term, and I've seen it used mainly on Wikipedia. All the books on Burmese history written in English I've read all use a less precise term queen to mean queen consort. (The country had just one queen regnant, and one queen regent in its history. See footnote 19; I've provided citations.) That said, I've edited to the text to say "chief queen consort" for clarity. Thanks. Hybernator (talk) 23:48, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
