Lake Ptolemy edit
- ... that a lake larger than Lake Erie may have existed in the eastern Sahara less than 12,000 years ago? "At an elevation of 573 m asl, which marks the highest stand of the palaeolake, the lake is 83 m deep and 30 750 km 2 in area (larger than Lake Erie in North America), and would have held more than 2529 km3 of water in the past."

- Comment: "Less than 12,000 years ago" is based on the dates in the article and the definition of Holocene. ALT1 for the case that the reviewer assumes that the existence of this highstand is well established enough.

Hook and QPQ are fine. Meets the age and length criteria, but the inline citations are done in the form of an academic paper with references in the prose rather than as reference footnotes – these need to be sorted out.- Also, it's not clear that the hook is correct; the source used for the hook states that the lake was pre-Holocene, so should the hook not be "more than 12,000 years ago" rather than "less"? - @Number 57: Not sure what the problem with the citations is. As for the pre-Holocene or Holocene question, the source for the lake size does not give any clear-cut indication for when the lake existed (they seem to be just assuming that it was pre-Holocene); all other sources discussing lakes there say that it was a Holocene thing - DEM ‐ optical ‐ radar data integration for palaeohydrological mapping in the northern Darfur, Sudan: implication for groundwater exploration. suggests that the highest shoreline may be either Holocene or pre-Holocene in age. - The citations are written in the sentences rather than being footnotes, e.g. "Lake Ptolemy is a former lake in Sudan (Gossel, Ebraheem & Wycisk 2004, p. 705)" instead of "Lake Ptolemy is a former lake in Sudan.[1]". With regards to the hook, the other sources (at least the ones I can see) state that it is a Holocene-era lake, so I will AGF there. Number 57 18:31, 26 March 2017 (UTC)

- Whilst it may be allowed, unfortunately it makes the article almost unreadable. I see you created Negra Muerta volcanic complex using the normal format.
