@Gerda Arendt: The White Lion was for treating an epidemic of diarrhoeal illness, but none of the sources I read mentioned the reasons for the others. Personally I think it is more interesting for the hook to highlight the variety of international honours he received rather than focusing on one – he is likely the only person in the world to have received all three of these honours together. 97198 (talk) 11:20, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
