  • not a full review, but I'm concerned that the article does not clearly separate what is known to be true and what is filled in by the family's story. It seems that actually verifiable information here is minimal. Also, I have WP:NEVENT concerns here. theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 04:18, 25 July 2024 (UTC)
All statements are attributed and the article fulfills the notability guideline of having received significant coverage in a diversity of RS. Makeandtoss (talk) 08:50, 31 July 2024 (UTC)
  • Makeandtoss as I have never edited the article, can I go ahead and review this nomination? I'm involved in the ARBPIA area but I don't think that's a concern here, right? VR (Please ping on reply) 14:40, 6 August 2024 (UTC)

@Vice regent: there should be no issues. Makeandtoss (talk) 15:39, 6 August 2024 (UTC)

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
QPQ: Done.

Overall: VR (Please ping on reply) 21:04, 10 August 2024 (UTC) Might want to replace Israel–Hamas war with Israeli invasion of the Gaza Strip in the hook. I want to note that Earwig gave me violation possible. The pages with >10% possibility were: [1][2][3]. Nevertheless, can you replace the following phrases in the article with something equivalent:

  • " being mauled by an Israeli military dog"
  • "left Bhar in the house alone because there were soldiers injured in a rocket attack"
  • "had to evacuate 15 times"

VR (Please ping on reply) 21:04, 10 August 2024 (UTC)

  • @Makeandtoss: use the "ping" template when replying and don't hesitate to post on my talk page. DYK's are time sensitive.VR (Please ping on reply) 21:05, 10 August 2024 (UTC)

@Vice regent: Rephrased as recommended. I would keep the Israel-Hamas war in the hook. Makeandtoss (talk) 09:46, 11 August 2024 (UTC)

  • Ok, it looks good. VR (Please ping on reply) 12:50, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
  • Makeandtoss, surely "died after a dog attack", to match the article and RS, would be better? ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 01:07, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
@AirshipJungleman29: @Vice regent: = > ALT2 "... that Mohammad Bhar, a Palestinian man with Down syndrome and autism, died following a dog attack in the Gaza Strip during the Israel–Hamas war?" Makeandtoss (talk) 10:40, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
I support ALT2. I also added the tourniquet back to the lead for WP:NPOV, WP:BALASP and completeness. I would only support the nomination if the tourniquet or first aid is mentioned in the lead. Wafflefrites (talk) 13:30, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
Rather an odd place to make your stand on, but sure; it's not like it matters in the slightest. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 22:06, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
Neutrality is one of the DYK guidelines so if there are any concerns on neutrality, of course they should be brought up here. Wafflefrites (talk) 22:17, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
@Vice regent: Please check ALT2. Makeandtoss (talk) 08:49, 14 August 2024 (UTC)
  • If he assume his death was accidental then both Alt1 and Alt2 are neutral and fine, as it is common in American English to write both "died in a car accident"[4] and "killed in a car accident"[5]. VR (Please ping on reply) 11:03, 17 August 2024 (UTC)
I also support “killed by a dog attack”. “killed after a dog attack” is not what happened. @Makeandtoss: in ALT1 and the original blurb, can you please change “after” to “by”? Wafflefrites (talk) 13:19, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
@Wafflefrites: @Vice regent: Done.: Alt final: that Mohammad Bhar, a Palestinian man with Down syndrome and autism, was killed by a dog attack in the Gaza Strip during the Israel–Hamas war? Makeandtoss (talk) 13:42, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
This looks good to me 👍. Both “killed by a dog attack” and “died after a dog attack” are accurate blurbs. Wafflefrites (talk) 13:55, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
