Justin Melton edit

Created by PapaJeckloy (talk). Self nominated at 11:37, 13 June 2014 (UTC).

  • This article wasn't created on June 13, but much earlier. No 5x expansion, neither. All in all, less than 1,500 characters. Bare link URLs for references, and most of the prose unreferenced. Hook claim not found in article nor in the references. --Soman (talk) 05:59, 15 June 2014 (UTC)
  • I have expanded it more than 1,500 characters these time, and i added the hook claim, i also added more references. -PapaJeckloy (talk) 13:18, 15 June 2014 (UTC)
  • Currently the article is 2116B. Before expansion was 989B with references (so 2x for BLP doesn't apply). The article needs to be 4945 B readable prose to qualify.--Redtigerxyz Talk 08:23, 21 June 2014 (UTC)
  • I have expanded it more than 4945 bytes this time, it is now 13200 bytes, i have made an major expansion, and i also fixed the references it did not bared urls at this time, I think it is now qualified. -PapaJeckloy (talk) 14:44, 21 June 2014 (UTC)

In terms of length, the article is now good. Each para at least needs 1 citation from a RS to be compliant with "cites sources with inline citations" criterion of DYK. Redtigerxyz Talk 12:13, 22 June 2014 (UTC)

  • I added every section a reference now, so there are no problems was left on this page, so i think it is now qualified again. -PapaJeckloy (talk) 13:29, 22 June 2014 (UTC).

I don't want to be the one that will shoot down this DYK nomination down but I have observed that the recent additions by the nominator were copy-pasted with very minor changes from the San Mig Super Coffee Mixers article, specifically from the 2013-14 Philippine: The 11th Championship section. I have noticed since one of my uploaded photos were included from the recent additions, and the subject is not even in that photo, it's his coach and one of his teammates. -WayKurat (talk) 17:17, 22 June 2014 (UTC)

Disregarding the whole copy paste since DYK is applicable for "new" content. Readable prose size: 3944 B. Please rewrite the paras keeping in view WP:UNDUE. Focus on the player, not the team. --Redtigerxyz Talk 05:01, 23 June 2014 (UTC)

  • I think it's ok, because that words came from me , i edited that on that page. But i will fix it for the sake of all, i will focus on the player. -PapaJeckloy (talk) 08:57, 23 June 2014 (UTC)
  • I have fixed it now, and it it still long and considerate for requirements, and references too, no problems now. -PapaJeckloy (talk) 14:16, 23 June 2014 (UTC).
The whole "College" para references [1], which does not say a word about what it references. Similar problem with ref 7 (used for the hook), it does not say "he broke the record of the shortest player and the youngest one to win it". Redtigerxyz Talk 10:13, 24 June 2014 (UTC)
An independent reviewer should check the article, since I have reviewed it too many times. Redtigerxyz Talk 13:12, 24 June 2014 (UTC)
For the last time, it is now finished, i have fixed the College section and i added a reference that says the statement about it, and also the ref7 was changed to a source that says the statement also, there were no problems left, so it's good to go. -PapaJeckloy (talk) 13:15, 24 June 2014 (UTC).
Sorry, The problem persists. The ref does not support that the hook. It does not talk of the record. The college para is uncomplete sentences without subjects and are opinions (no proof of them being of notable individuals). e.g. "Really handles the ball well. Can really pressure and defend the ball. ... Great individual with outstanding character." PapaJeckloy, the article needs a thorough copyedit and backing of WP:RS that tally with article content. Also, I would recommend you go through Wikipedia:Did_you_know#DYK_rules and crosscheck yourself. Please request an independent reviewer once you give an article a complete overhaul. Redtigerxyz Talk 13:35, 24 June 2014 (UTC)
"Uncomplete sentences" -- Redtiger, are you losing your goddam gol-durned mind? EEng (talk)
  • Please don't be rude. Thank you. --Storye book (talk) 16:51, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
SB, I have a lot of respect for you, but please butt out of other editors' relationships. Redtiger and I have a fun time with each other (don't we Redtiger?). I know you couldn't know that, but it's not your job to patrol other editors' comments to one another. EEng (talk) 16:59, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
  • I was objecting to the swearing on this DYK page, which I have a right to do. --Storye book (talk) 17:19, 8 July 2014 (UTC)

  • Thank you for the deletion. (Quote from your link: "be aware of sensitivities, and try to deal with things between yourselves nicely, please") -Storye book (talk) 10:34, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
  • I agree with Redtigerxyz. Citation #9 is the one next to the hook in the text, and it mentions that Melton is the shortest - but it does not say he is the youngest player, and because the source was written before the competition, it does not say he became champion. The weasel-words quoted above by Redtiger are still in the article. Although part of the article has been edited since Redtiger's comment 14 days ago, the same problems still persist. I vote that this nomination be closed. --Storye book (talk) 13:06, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
