5x expanded by Knightmare 3112 (talk). Self-nominated at 23:53, 24 December 2021 (UTC).

  • Hi Knightmare 3112, thanks for your work on this article but right now it has not been expanded enough for DYK. This revision, before you started expanding it, contains 1209 prose characters, and the current version has 4249 prose characters, which is a 3.5x expansion. You'd need to add about 1800 more characters of prose to the article ASAP for this to qualify as a 5x-expanded article, or alternatively you can attempt to improve it to Good Article status and re-nominate it here within a week of a successful promotion.
This nomination is not closed yet, so feel free to continue to expand the article within the next week – and also ensure that all paragraph are fully sourced. Thanks, DanCherek (talk) 12:45, 25 December 2021 (UTC)
Thanks DanCherek, I have added about 1500 more prose characters if you’d like to review again Knightmare 3112 (talk) 01:29, 28 December 2021 (UTC)
Hi Knightmare 3112, unfortunately it is still not long enough. "Prose" means that references, block quotes, wikilink characters ([[ ]]), etc. don't count. The current article length is 5164 characters, and it would need to get to at least 6045. (DYKcheck.js is a handy tool for checking whether an article is eligible for DYK.) • @DanCherek: @Knightmare 3112: Just letting you know that I have given the article a quick copyedit; it now has 5464 characters according to DYK check. I'll see whether I can find more info to add to the article (with citations) today or tomorrow - but no guarantee that I'll find anything, from here in the UK. • @DanCherek: @Knightmare 3112: According to DYK Check, the article now has 6395 characters and is fully cited, so it should now be ready for review in that respect. Storye book (talk) 15:59, 5 January 2022 (UTC)
@Storye book: Thanks! I've added a DYKmake credit for you, for your efforts to get this over the finish line. Feel free to remove it if you don't want it. DanCherek (talk) 13:56, 6 January 2022 (UTC)
Review (also tagging Knightmare 3112: The article is new enough, now long enough, neutrally written. I think the article needs to state more definitely, with a source, that Luker was the first police officer killed on duty in Australia. Right now it's in the lead without a source, and alluded to with "first name on the memorial wall" but not 100% clear. I think this will be ready after that minor fix. DanCherek (talk) 13:56, 6 January 2022 (UTC)
@DanCherek: It’s now stated that Luker was first police officer killed with a source mentioning the fact, so I think all good to go now Knightmare 3112 (talk) 00:22, 7 January 2022 (UTC)
