Joint United States Public Affairs Office
edit... that the daily briefings on operations of the Vietnam War held by the Joint United States Public Affairs Office were referred to as the "Five O'Clock Follies" due to their inaccurate and incomplete reports on battles and exaggerated body counts?Source: Kutler, Stanley I. - There are some sourcing issues with this article that need to be fixed. There's a citation needed tag at the bottom of the second paragraph of the "Operations" section, and the Barger source is missing page numbers. The intro also needs to be a bit more comprehensive as it isn't really a summary of the article as it currently stands. In addition, the nominator needs to do a quid pro quo review of another DYK nomination as required by the DYK rules. Other than that, the article was new enough at the time of the nomination, it's long enough, reliably sourced, and the hook is both interesting and reliably sourced. - Striking the hook as far too long per DYK rules: it is 245 characters, far above the absolute maximum of 200. Please submit an ALT hook that is significantly shorter. Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 14:42, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
- Nominator has been inactive since December 22, and has not responded to two separate talk-page pings over the past two weeks. Marking for closure. BlueMoonset (talk) 05:44, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
