John Jacob Astor Hotel edit
- ... that in 1948, the Hotel Astoria (pictured), in Astoria, Oregon, was a key component in the world's first cable television system?
- ALT1:... that the world's first cable television system was installed in 1948 in Astoria, Oregon, using an antenna on the roof of the Hotel Astoria (pictured)?
- Comment: The proposed hook pipes the article name for these reasons: The hotel was named Hotel Astoria for almost two-thirds of its life (as a hotel) and, even more importantly, was still named that in 1948 (date of hook fact). The article title uses the name "John Jacob Astor Hotel" (adopted in 1951), as it is the most common name and is also the name by which the building has been known the longest (continuing into the post-hotel era). I didn't know how to handle this issue for a DYK hook.

This five-fold expansion is new enough and long enough. The image is appropriately licensed and the hook referenced. I see no problem with piping the hotel name in this way. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 11:11, 29 October 2013 (UTC)
