Jaratkaru edit

  • ... that Jaratkaru is said to have abandoned his pregnant wife because she woke him up from his deep sleep?

  • The article is good and I have verified the hook. Antrocent (♫♬) 09:58, 29 June 2014 (UTC)
The article is long enough. The article is new enough. The article is sourced with reliable sources. I can not read the books, but I found other sources supporting the hook. Antrocent (♫♬) 20:12, 4 July 2014 (UTC)
Suggesting ALT: ... that Jaratkaru is said to have married Jaratkaru?--Redtigerxyz Talk 16:34, 29 June 2014 (UTC)
  • Article is indeed new enough, long enough, adequately referenced. Unable to check for close paraphrasing as all sources are offline. (User:Antrocent, if you find other sources, you can always help out by adding them to the article.) I still like the original hook; ALT1 is a little vague. Per DYK rules, there needs to be a cite right after the hook fact in the article, which is not the case for either hook. QPQ done. Yoninah (talk) 20:24, 5 July 2014 (UTC)
Yoninah, the problem is none of two are stated in a single sentence in the article. Original is referenced by refs 1, 5, which support the whole first para (The Mahabharata) of "Abandonment of his wife". For ALT, I wanted it to be vague. The sage vowed that he will marry a namesake virgin only. So Jaratkaru married (a woman named) Jaratkaru; seems a odd statement - suggests as though he married himself. Refs for this are Marriage; first 2 paras. The refs at the end support the entire paras. Your suggestions about the ALT are welcome. Redtigerxyz Talk 14:23, 6 July 2014 (UTC)
  • OK, I'm willing to go along with your paragraph-long citations; hope it doesn't lead to any discussion on WT:DYK. I'm also fine with the first hook, but if you want to tweak the ALT you could say:
  • ALT2: ... that Jaratkaru insisted on marrying someone named Jaratkaru? Yoninah (talk) 19:57, 6 July 2014 (UTC)
Yoninah, okay with your rewording in ALT2.Redtigerxyz Talk 12:26, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
  • Thank you. I still like the original hook, too, so I'll leave it to the closing administrator to decide between the original and the tweak in ALT2. Offline hook refs AGF and cited inline. Good to go. Yoninah (talk) 12:53, 7 July 2014 (UTC)
