James D. Wright edit

  • ... that sociologist James D. Wright, along with Peter H. Rossi and Kathleen Daly, published a study in 1983 showing that about 1% of privately owned guns in the United States are used in crime? Source: "...according to a 1983 National Institute of Justice-funded study by James D. Wright, Peter H. Rossi, and Kathleen Daly, about one percent of privately owned firearms are involved in criminal activity..." [1])

  • New article (15 March), QPQ done, sufficiently long (over 2000 characters), written in plain and simple language, Earwig check returning similarities only on institution names / academic title and both the hooks well cited. Original hook needs a tweak as the source says 1% of privately owned guns whereas the hook implies 1% of all guns. Please ping me after rephrasing the hook. jojo@nthony (talk) 12:08, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
Thanks, now it is good for promotion. jojo@nthony (talk) 13:45, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
  • ALT1 isn't interesting at all, but ALT0 is good. I suggest eliminating the extra names, one of which doesn't even have an article, and edit as follows:
  • ALT1a: ... that sociologist James D. Wright co-authored a 1983 study that showed approximately 1% of privately-owned guns in the United States are used in crime? Yoninah (talk) 22:03, 23 March 2017 (UTC)
I think ALT1a is good, so I have stricken ALT0 and I now support ALT1a as the hook. Everymorning (talk) 22:46, 23 March 2017 (UTC)
  • Thank you. Restoring tick per Tachs' review. Yoninah (talk) 22:48, 23 March 2017 (UTC)
