  • It appears that the Dutch ship "Vulcanus" was the first diesel powered ship, two years prior to Knudsen's MS Selandia. Don't know if it was "oceangoing". Difficulties linking to the references, as well. Article age and length appear to be okay. No copyvio concerns. Article needs a Talk page. Work needed on the hook, so that it does not give the impression that Selandia was the first diesel powered ship.Gulbenk (talk) 22:37, 28 October 2013 (UTC)
  • changed hook [to ALT1], added talk page. Inwind (talk) 16:29, 29 October 2013 (UTC)

ALT1 ... that Ivar Knudsen led the development of the MS Selandia the biggest diesel powered vessel at its time?

  • Still a bit concerned with the hook. Perhaps an additional superative (from the MS. Selandia article) "the biggest and most advanced... My suggestion of this hook and work improving references in the Ivar Knudsen article, I believe, prohibit me from further reviewing/approving the DYK nomination. I would ask another reviewer to complete the task. Gulbenk (talk) 22:37, 29 October 2013 (UTC)
  • ALT2 added by Inwind at 16:49, 30 October 2013 (UTC)

ALT2 ... that Ivar Knudsen led the development of the MS Selandia the biggest and most advanced diesel powered vessel of its time?

The article's prose which supports the hook (ALT2) needs an in-line citation for verification.—John Cline (talk) 04:55, 4 November 2013 (UTC)

  • Also, the mention of Knudsen's death includes specific mention of: "mysteriously", "food poisoning", and "a business trip" while the source verifies "mysteriously", it does not mention "food poisoning" nor "a business trip", instead calling it a "journey" to India. Please review the Death section and show a reference for these facts; or modify the prose to conform with the source prose.—John Cline (talk) 00:04, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
  • removed conteted "... business ...".Inwind (talk) 20:23, 11 November 2013 (UTC)

Ivar Knudsen is a new article created by Inwind on October 27, 2013, and self nominated the same day. The article is long enough, having 2258 characters of prose when nominated and 2386 characters when approved for DYK. The article is within policy; meeting core Wikipedia policies and guidelines. In particular the article is neutral in its encyclopedic tone, sources are referenced with in-line citations and the prose is free of close paraphrasing issues, copyright violations and plagiarism.

The hook is 114 characters and meets the formatting guidelines. It is interesting, accurate, and cited with in-line citations in the article. It is neutral and does not focus unduly on negative aspects of living people.—John Cline (talk) 07:40, 12 November 2013 (UTC)
