Iraj Castle

  • ... that the massive Sasanian fortification Iraj Castle lacks any structure in its interior? Source: "Protected by a massive wall, but devoid of permanent buildings in its vast c. 175 ha interior, the rectangular compound of Qaleh Iraj near Tehran must be a military base – and as such, it is arguably the largest fortress in the ancient world to the west of modern Afghanistan." • @ZxxZxxZ: Hi, I will review this article. There seem to be some issues; see below. epicgenius (talk) 15:37, 20 October 2019 (UTC)

General eligibility:

  • New enough: Yes
  • Long enough: No - Prose size before expansion is 872 characters, and afterward is 4281 characters. This is just short of an exact 5x expansion, i.e. 4360 characters.

Policy compliance:

Hook eligibility:

  • Cited: Yes
  • Interesting: No - Eh, I guess it could be more interesting. How about this:
    • ... that Iraj Castle is the largest pre-modern, non-urban permanent fortification in southwest Asia, Europe and Africa?
QPQ: Done.

Overall: epicgenius (talk) 15:37, 20 October 2019 (UTC)

Just a drive-by comment: Epicgenius's new suggestion is probably better than the original hook, but the sentence mentioning it doesn't have a footnote. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 02:19, 21 October 2019 (UTC)
Actually it is sourced, like all the other statements in the article. The sources for each sentence of the article are consistently cited at the end of its corresponding paragraph, which I assume to be the prefered practice. --Z 11:47, 29 October 2019 (UTC)
  • @ZxxZxxZ: Has there been any progress on addressing the issues I mentioned? epicgenius (talk) 03:44, 28 October 2019 (UTC)
  • Thanks for the review. I intend to work on the article tomorrow. --Z 19:27, 28 October 2019 (UTC)
  • Looks like ALT0 is good to go. Upon further consideration, it is interesting enough, and doesn't rely on a superlative like ALT1 does. epicgenius (talk) 02:16, 5 November 2019 (UTC)
