How I Met Your Mother (season 9) edit

Created/expanded by Haha169 (talk). Self nominated at 20:28, 13 August 2013 (UTC).

I added source for the premiere release date. The source for the hook is in the article from a reputable source. If you wish, I could find plenty of other outlets reporting the information. It is a well-known fact. --haha169 (talk) 18:37, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

So the hook basically says that in the fictional TV show, a fictional character was introduced. Thats something against our C6 rule of fictional subjects. Is there something else hooky enough in the article? Also, do you want the hook to be on main page on 23rd September? §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 07:11, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
I think you may be interpreting my hook wrong, in which case I would be open to suggestions for improving the hook. But the source, titled "Exclusive: How I Met Your Mother Makes Cristin 'Mom' Milioti a Full-Fledged Series Regular", is not about a fictional character. Rather, it is about the real actress, Cristin Milioti, being promoted to the regular cast, with star billing. --haha169 (talk) 03:14, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
Yeah! This reworded hook looks better now. Over to User:Bonkers The Clown. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 04:37, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
(edit conflict) The problem may have to do with the hook not distinguishing between the character and the actress. The actress is the first to be added to the show's main cast in its history, for the upcoming ninth season. (Another bit of confusion: using past tense for a season that has not yet aired.) Revising the hook to make this distinction clear, and taking Milioti out of parenthesis, would be a help. (Using parentheses in a hook is rarely a good idea.) How about:
Or, a somewhat different approach (make sure it's properly sourced if you like it; the TVLine source isn't clear that Milioti made her first appearance in the previous season finale, just that she was unmasked as the eponymous "Mother"):
I like the first one, and have replaced it. Thanks for the suggestions! --haha169 (talk) 22:19, 22 August 2013 (UTC)
  • Needs a new review, now that valid hook has been proposed. BlueMoonset (talk) 16:11, 30 August 2013 (UTC)
  • Unfortunately there is now a couple of uncited sections that have drifted into the article. The end of the fourth paragraph of casting is uncited and so is the line under Distribution. I'm happy with Alt2 though! :) Once the relevant sections have been cited, let me know and I'll be happy to pass the article. Miyagawa (talk) 18:17, 29 September 2013 (UTC)
I've added sources to the lines that you requested. Quick question; do you prefer Atl2, because I currently have Alt1 put up. But I don't particularly have much of a preference, either one works. --haha169 (talk) 22:58, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
Article is now fully cited and good to go. I think I prefer the Alt1 (the reworked original) as it covers the same ground as Alt2 but is punchier. Miyagawa (talk) 07:22, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
