Hills Tower

An eighteenth-century view of Hills Tower
An eighteenth-century view of Hills Tower
  • ... that Hills Tower was built in three stages, around 1527, 1598, and 1721, each time by a different Edward Maxwell? Source: Gifford, cited in article: "In 1527 Edward Maxwell... ...bought the lands if Hills... ...probably soon after Maxwell built the tower..." "...was dignified by his grandson and namesake in 1598..." "...last major stage in the group's development was the addition in 1721, by yet another Edward Maxwell...". The Hume and Maxwell-Irving sources also support the three different stages of construction, and the three identical names.

  • Hi Girth Summit, review follows: article moved to mainspace 9 April; article exceeds minimum length; article well written and cited inline throughout to reliable sources; most sources are offline, there is no copyright violation from the sole online source; hook fact is interesting, mentioned in the article and cited inline; AGF that the sources support the statements, happy to do so on the basis of the extracts provided; image looks OK and is PD by virtue of age; a QPQ has been carried out. Looks fine to me - Dumelow (talk) 07:03, 10 April 2021 (UTC)
