Grand Slam (PBA) edit

5x expanded by WayKurat (talk). Self nominated at 15:20, 14 July 2014 (UTC).

Good to go. New enough, large enough, sources and content check out. I like ALT 2 as being just a tad more interesting hook. Schmidt, Michael Q. 06:17, 15 July 2014 (UTC)

  • Yoninah, I have revised the article that has a most likely close paraphrasing sentences. Kindly check MichaelQSchmidt if it is now OK. -WayKurat (talk) 02:50, 19 July 2014 (UTC)
  • I did a thorough copyedit on the grammar, and also added "cite needed" tags to several paragraphs. According to DYK rules, there needs to be at least one cite per paragraph to qualify. I didn't see close paraphrasing in the sources I checked, but I didn't check all of them. BTW, I was unable to find any of the information in the third paragraph under "1996 Alaska Milkmen" in footnote 7. Yoninah (talk) 21:57, 20 July 2014 (UTC)
  • I already attached the sources for those paragraphs in question and removed one that was more trivial. Kindly check Yoninah if it is now ok. -WayKurat (talk) 01:13, 21 July 2014 (UTC)
  • Regarding the third paragraph of 1996 Alaska Milkmen section, footnote 7 actually has three pages. The information mentioned in the third paragraph is located in the third page of the source. -WayKurat (talk) 01:32, 21 July 2014 (UTC)
  • Thank you for adding the cites and pointing out what I missed in footnote 7. I overlooked one paragraph (the first paragraph under "2013–14 San Mig Super Coffee Mixers" that also needs a cite. The more I look at the sources, the more I see how well you avoided close paraphrasing. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 09:01, 21 July 2014 (UTC)
*Okay, done adding with the sources. Hopefully this will be enough. :) -WayKurat (talk) 10:19, 21 July 2014 (UTC)
  • Great, we are set. The original hook and ALT2 are written too passively. I prefer ALT1, but would write it this way:
  • ALT3: ... that only five times in Philippine Basketball Association history did a team win the Grand Slam?
  • ALT3 hook refs verified and cited inline. ALT3 good to go. Yoninah (talk) 12:16, 21 July 2014 (UTC)
