Gertrude Hull edit

  • Comment only Is it reasonable to use "General" in the hook, when he was obviously not yet a General? Perhaps the hook would be better with this word omitted. Edwardx (talk) 00:58, 3 January 2017 (UTC)

ALT1 ... that high school teacher Gertrude Hull tutored Douglas MacArthur in preparation for passing the examination for entrance to West Point Academy? --Doug Coldwell (talk) 10:25, 3 January 2017 (UTC)

  • Source for hook - inline ref #13 = Gertrude Hull, Teacher, Dies / MacArthur Was Pupil. The Milwaukee Journal (p. "M" 1st column). Milwaukee, Wisconsin. March 24, 1947. "Miss Gertrude Hull, 80, who coached Gen. MacArthur for his entrance examinations to West Point died Saturday at her home."
  • Full review needed now that a new hook has been proposed. BlueMoonset (talk) 02:54, 4 February 2017 (UTC)
  • This article is long enough and new enough. The ALT1 hook is interesting and cited inline. The article is neutral and neither Earwig nor I discovered any policy issues. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 09:19, 5 February 2017 (UTC)
