George W. Hooker edit

Created/expanded by Aporter90 (talk). Self-nominated at 22:54, 11 March 2017 (UTC).

Dr Aaij, Ed, Did I do this correct???? Aporter90 (talk) 22:54, 11 March 2017 (UTC)

  • Aporter90, I think so--but we can always ask BlueMoonset, who's got nothing better to do anyway. Awesome! Note to reviewer: "hisself" is not a typo that's how folks talked back then and you are no better than them :) :) :) Dr Aaij (talk) 03:04, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
  • Comment: Yes, the nomination page, with some fixes, is formatted correctly. However, despite Dr Aaij's Note above, "hisself" has been changed to "himself" in the proposed hook; the word is "himself" in the article you're nominating, and using "hisself" is putting the word in Wikipedia's voice, where it does not belong. Aporter90, if you really want to use "hisself", it will need to be as part of a quote, which would have to be included in the article and sourced to be also used in the hook, but I recommend against it; it's a strong hook without it. Whatever you do, don't quote the single word; it should be part of a quoted phrase. BlueMoonset (talk) 05:04, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
BlueMoonset, Thank you so much! I will leave my hook alone! :) Aporter90 (talk) 12:42, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
Dr Aaij, lol I have a knack using the wrong words and butchering the english language. If I was trying to become an english teacher I am sure my husband would have a cow! No one needs to learn any english from me! :) Aporter90 (talk) 12:42, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
BlueMoonset, isn't it an awesome hook? Aporter has a knack--a knack for weird factoids. Did you see Template:Did you know nominations/James Sullivan (Medal of Honor)? Dr Aaij (talk) 15:16, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
