From Elvis in Memphis

edit

  • Review Recently promoted to GA. New enough, long enough, well cited (over?) article; hook is directly cited to Perone, James (2012). The Album: A Guide to Pop Music's Most Provocative, Influential, and Important Creations. Vol. 1. ABC-Clio. ISBN 978-0-313-37906-2.. I WP:AGF as to that citation, as I don't have the book. I note that this article has been created (in part) by a GCE contributor, and has been repeatedly vetted for content, readability, citations, etc. QPQ confirmed. Image of album cover (which I submit should be part of the DYK hook, and is the only image in the article) is from commons and is marked for fair use. No close paraphrasing or copyright issues. Wonderful article (although I never liked "In the Ghetto", but I digress). Nevertheless, IMHO the quality of the hook is very high: interesting, hooky and capturing the essence of the article. I see no evidence on the article talk page that this article was previously on the main page. Suggest picture of cover should be included:

ALT 1 * ... that during the recording sessions of From Elvis in Memphis (pictured), producer Chips Moman refreshed Elvis Presley's sound by incorporating the Memphis sound?
Hook is short enough to comply with the rule. Parenthetically, I should mention that the linked Memphis soul article doesn't mention Elvis Presley, which I thought odd. 7&6=thirteen () 12:39, 23 November 2014 (UTC)

If possible, the album cover should be definitively included.--GDuwenTell me! 12:54, 23 November 2014 (UTC)
Inherent in its appearance on the main page is the query of "Fair use" of the album cover image. I offer no opinion and defer to others at DYK as to that. 7&6=thirteen () 13:02, 23 November 2014 (UTC)
Sorry, but fair use images are never allowed on DYK. Only free images are acceptable. What you could possibly do is find a free image of Elvis (preferably from about the same time period) and add that to both the article and the hook. MANdARAX  XAЯAbИAM 19:42, 23 November 2014 (UTC)
Couldn't find nothing from the period, a true shame since it woulda been nice. Guess we'll have to leave it that way.--GDuwenTell me! 20:56, 24 November 2014 (UTC)
  • It qualifies as GA, original hook. ALT struck as non-free. Aymatth2 (talk) 02:26, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
