  • Where is the article and the rest of the hook? Gatoclass (talk) 14:01, 14 August 2011 (UTC)
  • Is there anything interesting that can be said? The DYK rules say that hooks should be interesting, not just definitions or bland statements of fact. rʨanaɢ (talk) 18:31, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
  • Good for original (and slightly revised) proposal. No comment on Alt1. Jrcla2 (talk) 12:52, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
ALT1: ... that in the Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard, speed is put against brawn?
Any hookier? Length and date seem to be okay, as does referencing. Images seem to be fine. Crisco 1492 (talk) 06:54, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
The proposed ALT1 hook is good (length, date, referenced, etc.). However, it's a little confusing – shouldn't it read "... that in the Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard bouts, speed is put against brawn?" (I feel like the word "bouts" is missing, because otherwise it's grammatically incorrect). Jrcla2 (talk) 15:42, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
I think it has been dealt with in the rephrased original. I like pitted instead of put, too. Crisco 1492 (talk) 02:57, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
  • We really can't run a hook like that. I pulled it from the prep area. NW (Talk) 02:42, 28 August 2011 (UTC)
  • Because the hook proposed is essentially advertising-style language that is not at all reflective of how our articles are written. NW (Talk) 18:46, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
Better? Crisco 1492 (talk) 01:48, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, that sounds OK. NW (Talk) 17:14, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
